Overall, I would recommend giving these a try, but the more you spend for them, the more the return is diminished as you get closer to the cost of real files. You can get pre-shaped bone nuts to fit most every brand of axe, even with starter slots, for little $$. Just need some minor fitting. You do need proper nut files & feeler gauges etc. to do the slots. Way less hassle than what you are proposing.
